My Story

Who I am and what I do

I was born and raised in London, United Kingdom. Over the years I've worked in-house, agency side and as a freelancer all over the world. I spent a portion of my career travelling while working remotely, and now reside in New Zealand.

The foundation of my work involves solving problems, meeting business goals and building empathy with users. If that sounds prosaic, the north star that led me into this career was my desire to create - eleven years in and I haven't looked back. I'm continually challenged through my eagerness to understand humans and hone my craft.

How I work

Experiences need to be accessible, delightful, memorable and provide the optimum solution for their intended audience. My design solutions involve an exploration phase with the team, followed by various sessions of critique and feedback from various stakeholders - through numerous iteration rounds we then converge on a possible solution.

During the exploration phase I nurture a human centric mindset, and use data to understand the end-to-end user journey. I'm always open to new ideas and honest feedback. Humility is important - I'm passionate about collaboration, openness and honesty and believe it's the bedrock of all strong teams.

Every one of my design solutions is birthed by a problem that needs to be solved, whether it's a revenue goal or a consistent pattern of frustration from customers in app store feedback. These are the skills and tools I use to solve problems:

Life outside of work

As hinted above, I've been fortunate enough to have travelled a lot. Having an ethnic background of 50% Filipino, 25% British and 25% Italian showed me the desire to travel since childhood. As an adult, I've continued down this path and I'm now a resident of New Zealand - one of the most beautiful countries in the world.

The landscape of New Zealand produces the most magnificent trails to hike, and (when it's not raining) I like to spend a lot of time outdoors. My other lifelong hobbies are art and music - frequently visiting exhibitions, gigs and concerts.

Purpose over passion - I am here to help.
